Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine has apologized to Metallica frontman James Hetfield for suggesting plans were being made for a Metallica-Megadeth supergroup. In 2011 Mustaine had said he was hoping to record an album with his bassist Dave Ellefson alongside James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich from Metallica. The band that canned him in 1983. After a series of delays in the recording of Alice in Chains‘ fifth studio album, singer-guitarist Jerry Cantrell says that the band is going full steam ahead with hopes of a 2012 release.
