Iron Maiden continue their world tour in support of their latest album, “The Book Of Souls”, which kicked off on February 24 in Sunrise, Florida, and the band have released some official video footage from the first few shows which can be seen below.
The band led by Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris‘s son George Harris, called The Raven Age, have been acting as the support act for the tour.
Iron Maiden’s sixteenth studio album, which also happens to be the band’s first double album, “The Book Of Souls”, was released worldwide on September 4, 2015 through Parlophone Records (BMG in the U.S.A). The project was recorded in Paris, France along with producer Kevin “Caveman” Shirley.
Iron Maiden announced in May of last year that touring plans to support the album wouldn’t happen until 2016 to allow singer Bruce Dickinson time to recuperate from his cancer treatment.
Dickinson says: “What’s special about this tour is that a year ago I didn’t even know if I could sing. We’ve
had an amazing turnaround in fortune after, obviously being ill a year ago, getting rid of that, and getting out and looking forward to doing the tour.”
Dickinson also spoke about fan reception to the new album and tour, saying: “The album was a massive success, and we were about that far [finger and thumb barely separated] off from getting the No. 1 slot [in its debut week on The Billboard 200 chart]. So now, we get to bring it out to the people, and, I mean, there’s a few tickets left but not many. Pretty much the whole of the U.S. is sold out. It’s amazing.”
