A petition has begun to circulate via Change.org requesting the removal of Marilyn Manson’s music video for his song “Heart-Shaped Glasses” from YouTube.

As reported by the Daily Mail this week, thousands of people have signed the petition so far in light of actress Evan Rachel Wood’s claims that Manson raped her in the music video for the 2007 single.

Wood, who is 34-years old, makes the shocking allegations in this month’s HBO documentary “Phoenix Rising” that she and then boyfriend Manson had discussed filming a simulated sex scene for his video — but once they started rolling on camera it quickly became clear he wasn’t interested in being romantic with her or anyone else involved; instead pushing himself inside of me without consent while others watched.” Wood was 19 at the time of the video’s filming.

According to NME, the actress shared the YouTube petition online, however at the time of this article being published “Heart-Shaped Glasses” remains on YouTube.

A YouTube spokesperson responded, “We’re monitoring the situation closely and will take appropriate action if we determine there is a breach of our creator responsibility guidelines.”

A synopsis about the documentary on the Sundance Film Festival website reads: “Actress and activist Evan Rachel Wood takes her experience as a survivor of domestic violence to pursue justice, heal generational trauma, and reclaim her story in a culture that instinctively blames women. The film intimately charts her journey as she moves toward naming her infamous abuser for the first time.”

The allegations stated that Manson abused her during their relationship in the late 2000s with Wood claiming that she was “groomed” as a teenager by the shock-rocker, before he “horrifically abused’ and “brainwashed” her.

Wood said in an Instagram post: “The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.

“I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

Following Wood’s statement, numerous other women have come forward to share their experiences with Manson, including Game Of Thrones actor Esmé Bianco and former assistant Ashley Walters.
