CANNIBAL CORPSE took to the stage for a recent performance in Reading, Pennsylvania on February 21, where the crowd broke out into a “F—k Chris Barnes” chant, which got a rousing response from vocalist George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher.
Chris Barnes, who was the original vocalist for CANNIBAL CORPSE and is the current singer for SIX FEET UNDER, made some negative comments about the modern day death metal scene last month. “I just watched a ‘death metal’ podcast on YouTube that was done about a week ago with the ‘top’ death metal vocalists .. it made my physically ill. I despise what this genre has become,” Barnes tweeted.
Well, it appears that CANNIBAL CORPSE fans made their opinions and voices heard on their feelings toward the band’s former vocalist at the death metal legends’ Reading show.
After the crowd chanted “F—k Chris Barnes” for nearly half a minute, Corpsegrinder simply responded, “You said it, not me.”
