Last month we reported that CANNIBAL CORPSE frontman George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher had come under fire by the World Of Warcraft community who were calling to have the non-playable character created in honor of him removed from the game due to some past “homophobic slurs” he used when discussing the MMORPG.

Fisher, who is a very vocal player of W.O.W., was immortalized with a quest giving character named ‘Gorge The Corpsegrinder‘ in the game. However, recently resurfaced footage of Fisher using several homophobic slurs while describing his love for the game back in a 2007 interview have now apparently forced Blizzard Entertainment and publisher Activision, who are currently facing a wave of harassment and discrimination-related legal issues, to rename the character.

Activision are currently under fire in a lawsuit filed by the California Department Of Fair Employment And Housing, with steps being taken to rename, or even remove, in-game creations tied to alleged instances of unacceptable behavior.

With player outcry against Fisher‘s 2007 comments appearing in World Of Warcraft-related forums earlier this year, the decision was made to more recently rename Fisher‘s character to ‘Annihilator Grek’lor‘.

“Corpsegrinder” has yet to comment on the matter.
