CANNIBAL CORPSE frontman George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher recently discussed how he personally feels about the state of death metal today, after recent comments from former CORPSE and current SIX FEET UNDER frontman Chris Barnes spoke to the contrary.

Over the past couple of weeks, Barnes has been on a tirade about the current state of death metal, from accusing his former band of price-gouging to blocking anyone who calls him out on Twitter.

Well, now it seems current CANNIBAL CORPSE vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher has responded to Barnes, somewhat indirectly, yet his point is still made.

Speaking to Little Punk People, “Corpsegrinder” was expressed his support of the modern death metal scene, saying: “The scene is just as healthy as it’s ever been. It’s just as great as it’s ever been. It’s not dead, it’s not terrible, I’m proud of the death metal scene today. I’m so proud of it, I think it’s amazing. I think there’s so many great bands.
“The scene couldn’t be better. And anyone who thinks otherwise…kiss rocks. Because I’m so proud of the death metal scene.”
