METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo’s 17-year-old son, Tye Trujillo, played bass for SUICIDAL TENDENCIES this past Saturday (September 11) at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Danville, Virginia.

Tye was filling in for SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bassist Roberto “Ra” Díaz, who was unable to make the gig due to the fact that he’s filling in for “Fieldy” in KORN for their current U.S. tour.

This isn’t Tye’s first gig with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES as he previously played bass for them back in October of 2019 at the SoCal Hoedown in San Pedro, California.

At the time, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES praised the musician for “showing what a badass he already is on bass. His youthful enthusiasm was contagious, his bass skills undeniable.”

When Tye was just 12 years old, he himself filled in on bass for “Fieldy” on KORN’s South American tour after the bassist had to back out of the trek due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
