You can now check out a video of ‘Stranger Things‘ actor Joseph Quinn, who portrays Eddie Munson in the show, rehearsing METALLICA‘s “Master Of Puppets” for the Netflix show’s iconic season four finale scene below.
In the ‘Stranger Things‘ Season 4 finale, metalhead Eddie Munson plays the much revered METALLICA track “Master Of Puppets” to help save his friends from an attack by antagonist Vecna’s evil forces.
It was recently revealed by METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo that his son, Tye, was involved in adding guitar tracks to “Master Of Puppets” for it’s use in the show, which led to speculation as to just how much involvement Quinn had in actually playing the tune. This video clears up any doubt that the dude can play.
“I wouldn’t consider myself a brilliant guitarist, but I can play,” Quinn told Entertainment Weekly back in May. “That was very lucky because those scripts came out, I think, at some point in the pandemic. I did start practicing pretty furiously.”
Quinn also said that he listened to “a lot of heavy metal” to get into his character, and even got some added authenticity for the role courtesy courtesy of the estate of the late Ronnie James Dio, who lent Quinn the DIO backpatch he can be seen wearing throughout the show.
