CROSSES, the band featuring DEFTONES singer Chino Moreno, ex-FAR guitarist Shaun Lopez and Chuck Doom, have announced that they’re definitely recording new music.

CROSSES have already released three EPs, which came out back in 2012, and then returned, seemingly out of nowhere, on Christmas Day 2020 with a cover of CAUSE & EFFECT’s “The Beginning Of The End”. Since then, CROSSES appeared to be in the studio working on new material, due to a single posted photo on their social media pages, yet nothing was confirmed.

Well now it seems the band have shared a set of photos of each of its members recording, with the caption “May 2021”, which you can pretty well chalk up to new material on the horizon.

Back in October, Chino had commented that since DEFTONES had released ‘Ohms’, he had more time to work on other projects.

“A few days ago, I just moved into a new place a little over a month ago, so I’ve been setting up my studio room in here and I broke out some of that [unreleased] stuff from then, and I started working on it!” said Moreno. “Now that the DEFTONES record is done and there’s no touring really in the near future, I kinda have time to work on stuff so I’m definitely going to dig in and see where I can go with that.

“I really really like that project (referring to CROSSES). The best part about it for me was no one knew we were making that record even. We put it out as EP’s first and we just kinda dropped out of nowhere. Making music without any expectations was super freeing and fun. I really love doing it. I like the guys that I work with in that so I’m gonna try to get some of that stuff finalized… finished up.”
