Corey Taylor recently released details on his other band ‘Stone Sour’ saying that they would be releasing a two-part double concept album over the next two years, titled ‘House Of Gold And Bones’.
Taylor had previously tweeted the cryptic phrase ‘HoGaB’, leaving fans questioning it’s meaning. He went on to unveil the full details of the project on his official Twitter page Twitter.com/CoreyTaylorRock.
He wrote: “I promised today you’d get the explanation to HoGaB. Well, today that’s exactly what you get. The new Stone Sour album is a two-part double concept album called ‘House of Gold and Bones’ (HoGaB), parts 1 and 2. Part 1 will drop in October 2012. Part 2 will drop next year. 24 songs, 12 on each disc.”
He went on to add: “Each disc will include one half of the story – for lyrics, you’ll have to visit our site. Once I lock in the company who will help me put it together, there will be a comic book as well. Song titles include ‘Absolute Zero’, ‘RU486’, ‘A Rumor Of Skin’ and ‘Taciturn’. Very excited for everyone to hear it! Stay tuned!”
Slipknot also revealed that their new ‘Best Of’ compilation ‘Antennas To Hell’ will be released on July 24, and features a total of 19 tracks, including classic singles ‘Wait And Bleed’, ‘Left Behind’, ‘Duality’ and ‘Psychosocial’.
The album, which is comprised of tracks from across Slipknot’s four studio albums as well as remixes and live cuts, also comes with liner notes, a CD of a live show at 2009’s Download Festival and a series of video montages of the band.
The band also recently announced plans for their own ‘Knotfest’ festival, due to take place this summer.
The event will see the band heading up two bills on August 17 and 18, the first in their native Iowa and the second in Somerset, which is on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border.
As well as Slipknot, there will also be performances from Deftones, Lamb Of God, Dethklok, Serj Tankian, The Urge and Cannibal Corpse.
