DREAM THEATER vocalist James LaBrie has laid it down against allegations that he uses pre-recorded vocal tracks during live concerts.

Last month, a number of fan videos were shared online showing footage of DREAM THEATER’s current North American tour, in which some individuals claim that James lip syncs at a part in the song “Bridges In The Sky”.

LaBrie addressed all the online gossip during DREAM THEATER’s concert this past Friday (March 18) at Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas, telling the audience: “I’m gonna fucking clarify something for you now, okay? People have been saying I’m fucking lip syncing? Fuck you. Fucking, what is wrong with people online?”

James then apologized to the audience, noting that he and his DREAM THEATER bandmates launched their current tour over six weeks prior. “I guess I’m losing my mind because I’m almost at the end of a [tour] leg,” he said.

James LaBrie, is set to release his fourth solo album, titled “Beautiful Shade Of Grey”, due out on May 20 via InsideOut Music.

The new endeavor sees him traverse personal maturation, loss, a myriad of complex relationships and, most importantly, LaBrie’s burning passion for music. On paper, the latest studio offering from the Canadian singer first took shape shortly after the global pandemic began to emerge. But in reality, LaBrie formed a bond with his fellow collaborator, bassist Paul Logue (EDEN’S CURSE), nearly a decade earlier.

“Beautiful Shade Of Grey” will be released as a limited CD digipak, 180-gram LP, CD and as a digital album, with artwork by Thomas Ewerhard.
