Eric Clapton took issue with a particular lyric in his collaboration song with Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that a chorus lyric from the song “One Of Those Days“, his collaboration with Eric Clapton from his forthcoming studio album “Patient Number 9” will “cause shit”, and admits the legendary guitarist wasn’t very happy with the line.

Speaking with Classic Rock magazine, Osbourne calls guitarist Eric Clapton a “fucking great” contribution to the song “One Of Those Days“, which features the lyric “One of those days that I don’t believe in Jesus”.

“It’s not an I Am An Anti-Christ song,” Ozzy says. “It’s about those days where everything goes fucking wrong, and you’re going nuts trying to fix everything up.”

Ozzy revealed that, on first hearing the lyric, the 77-year-old Clapton expressed some concern, leading Ozzy to consider changing the line altogether.

“He said, ‘Oh, I’m not sure about that lyric’,” Ozzy reveals. “So we tried to replace it with some alternatives. We did ‘One of those days where I don’t believe in Christmas” but it didn’t sound right. Losing faith in Jesus makes much more sense when the world is turning to shit.”

“I think that song and the whole album turned out great,” Ozzy concludes.

Osbourne went on to say that making the follow-up to 2020’s “Ordinary Man” album with returning producer Andrew Watt, took his mind off some of his recent setbacks, stating, “One of the reasons I made this record is so that people don’t forget me, and by hook or by crook I’ll be onstage again one day to say ‘thank you’ to the fans. If I can’t, I can’t, but my desire is strong.”
