ESPN’s longtime NFL reporter and hardcore SLAYER fan, John Clayton, has passed away at 67 years of age.
As of this point, no cause of death has been revealed.
The veteran broadcaster passed away at his home in Washington state “after a brief illness”, surrounded by friends and family.
Clayton is well known throughout the metal scene as the metalhead reporter with the hilarious SLAYER commercial, which you can see below.
Clayton spoke about his love for SLAYER in a 2014 interview, saying “[seeing Slayer live] was great. They are great people, great musicians, a great group.”
Clayton was ESPN’s reporter between 1995 and 2017.
