Check out footage and online reaction to Taylor Hawkins’ son joining FOO FIGHTERS for the song “My Hero”
The first Taylor Hawkins tribute concert took place at Wembley Stadium in London last night (September 2) which featured a standout performance of the FOO FIGHTERS song “My Hero” featuring Shane Hawkins on drums for the Dave Grohl fronted band.
The 16-year old son of the late FOO FIGHTERS drummer, who went viral earlier this year after a video of him playing the track was posted online, stood out among a lineup of notable guests including members of RUSH, METALLICA‘s Lars Ulrich, AC/DC‘s Brian Johnson, a THEM CROOKED VULTURES reunion and many more.
Shane’s drumming performance quickly became a hot topic of conversation on social media soon after, with numerous fans praising the young drummer, with some even going as far as to suggest he should join the FOO FIGHTERS as their fulltime drummer.
It’s currently unknown what FOO FIGHTERS have planned for the days ahead, however we can be sure the band will continue to create music and play live in at least some aspect.
Check out the footage of Shane’s performance below and read some of the internet’s reactions.
