EXHORDER made their appearance at this year’s edition of Maryland Deathfest along with former CANNIBAL CORPSE guitarist Pat O’Brien this past Sunday night (May 29).

The festival, which took place in Baltimore, Maryland, went down three months after guitarist Marzi Montazeri split with EXHORDER, revealing in a statement a few months ago that he “decided to no longer be a part of it.”

Pat O’Brien made headlines over three years ago when he was arrested for burglary and assaulting a police officer in Florida while his home was engulfed in flames. At the time of his arrest, it was revealed that the former CANNIBAL CORPSE guitarist burglarized a house and charged at a deputy with a knife.

O’Brien allegedly broke and entered a Northdale, Florida home and shouted that “the rapture is coming” before pushing a woman to the ground. He then charged the responding officer with a knife before being subdued with a stun gun.

In O’Brien’s home, fire marshals discovered a large collection of weapons and potential explosive devices, which included 50 shotguns, 20 semiautomatic rifles, two Uzi-style firearms, 20 handguns and two flamethrowers. Authorities also discovered thousands of rounds as well as additional weapons.

In March 2021, O’Brien was sentenced to time served and five years of probation and ordered to pay $23,793.45 in restitution.

In early 2021, CANNIBAL CORPSE had announced that they had split with O’Brien and replaced him with acclaimed death metal guitarist and producer Erik Rutan.
