Vinnie Vincent replaced guitarist Ace Frehley in KISS in 1982, and in 1983 the band would release “Lick It Up” — their first album without makeup — a record in which Vincent co-wrote 8 of the 10 songs, including the title track.

Vincent was fired by KISS soon after the album’s release and touring cycle, and would then go on to form VINNIE VINCENT INVASION, which recorded two albums.

In 1992, Vincent would re-team with KISS to write three songs for their acclaimed album “Revenge”, including the record’s first two singles, “Unholy” and “I Just Wanna”. Vinnie would soon be shown the door once again and go on to release the solo EP “Euphoria” four years later.

Vinnie Vincent would stay pretty well out of the public eye until April 2018, when he joined Gene Simmons at the KISS bassist/vocalist’s “Vault” event in Nashville, Tennessee. He would later state that he felt he was given ‘the cold shoulder’ by Simmons at the appearance.
