KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has admitted that he doesn’t have any friends

Simmons discussed his lack of close friends in the October/November 2022 issue of Goldmine magazine, which is available now.

“Even today as I sit here, other than Paul [Stanley, KISS co-founder], and we only get together when we do stuff for the band… How do I say this without sounding inhuman? I don’t have friends,” Simmons says in the new interview.

He continued: “Yeah, if friends means, ‘Gee, I don’t know what I’m going to do this afternoon. Hey, you want to come over and hang out?’ I’m more interested in what I want to do, and I don’t want to pretend that I’m interested in what you want to do because I am not.”

Somehow, we here don’t really find that all too surprising. Nothing against the ‘God of Thunder’ personally, but we can certainly understand how it could be difficult to get close to a guy like Gene. The constant “I’m a wealthy business man dontcha know?!” and “Lookit my shit!” could get a little trying on one’s nerves.

KISS are currently on the road for their “End Of The Road” farewell tour which launched back in January 2019 and was originally scheduled to wrap up on July 17, 2021 in New York City but is now expected to run well into 2023.

KISS‘s current lineup consists of founding members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, alongside guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer.
