IRON MAIDEN’s ‘Senjutsu’ has debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the band’s best showing on the chart since their formation more than four decades ago.
‘Senjutsu’ earned 64,000 equivalent album units in its first week of release with approximately 61,000 units in sales, making the effort the week’s top-selling release.
Moreover, IRON MAIDEN’s ‘Senjutsu’ had the year’s second largest sales week for a hard rock album, trailing only FOO FIGHTERS’ ‘Medicine at Midnight’, which tallied 70,000 equivalent album units (64,000 of those were album sales).
The chart position also marks IRON MAIDEN’s fourth consecutive debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Their previous album, 2015’s ‘The Book of Souls’, hit No. 4 with first-week sales of 74,000.
