METALLICA frontman James Hetfield has filed for divorce form his wife Francesca

TMZ reports that METALLICA frontman James Hetfield and his wife of 25 years have filed for divorce.

According to sources close to the couple, James apparently filed for divorce from Francesca Hetfield in their home state of Colorado earlier this year.

The pair met back in 1992 and have been married since 1997. James and Francesca have two daughters, Cali, 20, and Marcella, 16, as well as son Castor who is 18.

James has struggled with addiction in the past and has been quite open about his battles with low self-esteem and anxiety in the past.

Last fall James opened up about his troubles keeping it together as the frontman for METALLICA during the band’s massive touring cycle for their 1991 self-titled album, also known as “The Black Album“.

Back in September 2019, James re-entered a treatment facility to recover from alcohol addiction. He had previously been to rehab nearly twenty tears earlier for the same issues, as documented in the METALLICA documentary “Some Kind Of Monster”.
