METALLICA Release Statement On ‘Master Of Puppets’ Being Used In ‘Stranger Things’

Metallica have commented on the 'Stranger Things' scene, which features metalhead Eddie Munson shredding his way through "Master Of Puppets".

When METALLICA‘s iconic tune “Master Of Puppets” made an appearance in the season finale of Netflix series “Stranger Things“, the internet just blew up with it’s new found love for the song. So much so that the track is currently sitting on the ‘Spotify Top 50‘ trending charts.

Now, METALLICA have acknowledged the scene, which features metalhead Eddie Munson shredding his way through “Master Of Puppets” in an attempt to save his friends. (You’ll have to watch the series to really get the gist of it)

METALLICA said in a new social media post: “The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include Master Of Puppets in the show, but to have such a pivotal scene built around it. We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away…it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?

“It’s an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie’s journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show.”

METALLICA bassist Rob Trujillo revealed earlier this week that his son Tye was involved in adding guitar parts to the track used in the show.

The latest season of Stranger Things is streaming now on Netflix.
