Machine Gun Kelly took the stage at the Aftershock Festival over the weekend and received a less than warm welcome by the event attendees. One concert-goer went as far as to throw a log at the “rapper turned rocker” as he sang from on top of a tent.  Numerous other festival goers threw bottles, jeered and flipped off the musician.

This whole thing started when MGK mouthed off SLIPKNOT during his performance at Riot Fest earlier this month. He then added fuel to the fire by going after SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor on social media account the following day, saying that Corey recorded a verse for his 2020 album ‘Tickets to My Downfall’, which MGK didn’t use, and called the singer “bitter” over it.

Taylor fired back at Kelly on Twitter, providing screenshots of an email exchange regarding what actually happened, with Corey choosing not to participate in the project.

MGK was met with boos by a great deal of the audience at the recent Louder Than Life festival and it seems some of the hatred carried over to Aftershock over the weekend.

That being said, there were certainly MGK supporters in attendance, showing adoration for the musician, however a great deal of the attendees seemed to be almost furious at his appearance.

“How the fuck you feelin’ Aftershock?” MGK said at the beginning of his set. “Mixed opinions. I love you so much. This morning I was like, ‘Do we get on the plane and go to this?’ I was sitting there thinking about the last festival we did where this 10-year-old got her poster ripped up just for liking me. I’m doing this show for her and everyone who came to see us.”

After being pelted with a barrage of bottles and tree branches while singing the song “Nothing Inside,” MGK flipped off a few festival goers while performing on top of a tent.

Tickets to My Downfall indeed.
