MEGADETH is hinting toward a June 23 release date for the release of the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, “The Sick, The Dying And The Dead“.

An image was shared on MEGADETH‘s social media yesterday which displays the numbers “6:23“, leading many to assume that it will be the arrival date of new MEGADETH music.

At last weekend’s Download festival in the U.K., MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine told the audience that the album’s first single would arrive on July 23, however it is now assumed that frontman gave the wrong month. Mustaine also revealed that “The Sick, The Dying And The Dead” will now be released in September, being pushed back from his original July drop date.

The Sick, The Dying And The Dead” will feature a cover of the DEAD KENNEDYS song “Police Truck” and Sammy Hagar‘s “This Planet’s On Fire“, which actually features vocals from Hagar.

Earlier this year, Dave Mustaine confirmed that TESTAMENT bassist Steve DiGiorgio laid down the bass tracks on “The Sick, The Dying And The Dead“.

Just last month, MEGADETH announced the return of bassist James LoMenzo to the fold. LoMenzo was previously MEGADETH‘s bass player in the mid-2000s and recently stepped back in to take the place of original bassist David Ellefson.
