BEHEMOTH frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski has been acquitted in the latest ‘offending religious feelings’ case against him.

The BEHEMOTH singer/guitarist was previously found guilty of blasphemy charges by a court in Warsaw, Poland this past February while facing fines close to $5000 USD. Nergal however persevered in his fight and contested the charges which was dismissed after the prosecutor failed to call upon any witnesses.

The charge in question was brought against Nergal after he posted a picture of a boot stepping on a painting of the Virgin Mary on his social media back in September of 2019.

The BEHEMOTH frontman comments: “Case DISMISSED. There’s NOTHING controversial about the jury’s verdict so fuckin’ DEAL with it. AFTER ALL we live in civilized and democratic country… still. Common sense beats the shit out of fundamentalist agenda which means on more step towards Poland remaining a secular state! Moreover, I know it’s like talking to the wall but to all my adversaries: dont’t give me that “do the same with Koran” bullshit coz it’s old and irrelevant. I keep on spamming here coz I simply LOVE polarization between half of u dear followers congratulating me for the battle won and the other half… that would love see me crucifucked ????????????”

Since initially being found guilty of the charge this past February, Nergal launched this legal defense campaign to fight back against Poland’s anti-blasphemy laws.
