Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne have announced that they are planning to house two Ukrainian refugee families in the unused properties on their U.K. estate.
Sharon recently spoke to the Sunday Times about the current military invasion of Ukraine by Russia, with the reporter commenting on her being “furious about the red tape bogging down the process for rehoming Ukrainian refugees” in Britain.
When Sharon was asked if her and Ozzy would be opening their estate to any of the affected Ukrainian refugees, she replied that they were planning to welcome “two Ukrainian families into the unused properties” at their Grade II-listed home, Welders House, under the U.K. government’s Homes For Ukraine scheme. “Ozzy’s very well known in Ukraine. I think they’d be happy,” Sharon said.
Last month, Ozzy and Sharon reported that they were leaving Los Angeles and returning to their native U.K. due to the rising taxes in California.
The 73-year-old BLACK SABBATH frontman and his wife will reportedly spend most of their time at their home, the historical Welders House.
“We are leaving L.A.,” Ozzy said to The Mirror. “We are a bit sad. But the tax is getting too much. I am sad because I really, really like staying and living there.”
