PEARL JAM frontman Eddie Vedder has again taken a shot at MÖTLEY CRÜE during a concert he was performing on Sunday (Febraury 6).

Last week, a war of words erupted between Vedder and MÖTLEY CRÜE’s Nikki Sixx after the PEARL JAM singer said in a recent interview that he “despised” the 80’s hair and glam metal era, calling it “vacuous”. He also mentioned MÖTLEY CRÜE by name, referring to their 1987 single and album “Girls, Girls, Girls”.

Nikki Sixx took to his Twitter account soon after and went on to call PEARL JAM “one of the most boring bands in history”. The iconic grunge band responded with a tweet of their own the following day depicting a mass of excited concert attendees, which said, “We [love] our bored fans”.

Well, it seems Eddie has taken another shot at MÖTLEY during one of the PEARL JAM singer’s solo shows that took place in Newark, N.J., at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, in support of his upcoming solo album, “Earthling”, which arrives on February 11.

Just prior top the drum solo by drummer Chad Smith (also RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), Vedder told the audience: “That drum kit — that silver, beautiful machine that he is the engine of — does not need to elevate or rotate to do its job. Let me just point that out.”

The comment was an obvious swipe toward MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee’s drum kit theatrics that are common at the group’s shows.
