The latest edition of THE LOADED RADIO PODCAST is up and this week features Skye Sweetnam and Matt Drake from Canadian metallers SUMO CYCO. With the release of their third full length album, ‘Initiation’, which is also the band’s first major release since signing with Napalm, the band are on a serious crash course for utter domination within their genre. That’s if you can pin them down to a “genre”, as they seem to have carved out their own loud, catchy as f*ck niche in metal. And it really works. And sounds great loud.
In the interview, Skye and Matt talk all things SUMO CYCO including recording with producer Kane Churko in Las Vegas, the continuing stigma about “women in metal”, their love of being on the road and the possible attempt to release more music videos than the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.
Also on the podcast, Loaded Radio’s Johnny Rude joins Scott Penfold in the second portion of the show to discuss the week that was in hard rock and metal. Including that recent Vince Neil performance that’s been making the rounds online.
