POSSESSED frontman Jeff Becerra, who was shot in a robbery in 1989, leaving him bound to a wheelchair ever since, was able to walk again for the first time in over 30 years with the help of new robotic legs.

Earlier today (Saturday, September 18), Becerra shared a video of him taking a few steps for the first time in over 30 years along with the following message: I walked again! I walked again for the first time in over 30 years with the help of robotic legs #jeffbecerra #possessed #possessedband #rewalk #rewalkrobotics #smallmiracles”.

POSSESSED initially disbanded back in 1987 with guitarist Larry Lalonde joining BLIND ILLUSION, then PRIMUS, while vocalist/bassist Jeff Becerra, guitarist Mike Torrao and drummer Mike Sus all did their own things.

Two years after POSSESSED’s split, Becerra was the victim of a failed armed robbery attempt, subsequently leaving him paralyzed from the chest down and sending him into a spiral of drug and alcohol abuse. Becerra then reformed POSSESSED in 2007 with his own lineup.

“Revelations Of Oblivion” was released in May 2019 via Nuclear Blast. The album was recorded at NRG studios and Titan Studios with Becerra as executive producer and Daniel Gonzalez as co-producer for the album. Mixing and mastering was handled by Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN, BLOODBATH) at Abyss Studios in Sweden. For the artwork, the band enlisted Polish artist Zbigniew Bielak (PARADISE LOST, DIMMU BORGIR, DEICIDE, GHOST, GORGUTS) to create a piece that brought back the notion of true fear that was once associated with the idea of evil.
