QUIET RIOT Still Touring After Drummer Frankie Banali’s Death; Tour Dates Announced

Quiet Riot hitting the road in newly announced tour dates.

QUIET RIOT are fulfilling late drummer Frankie Banali’s wish that the band continue on after his death and have announced tour dates for both 2021 and 2022.

QUIET RIOT is now composed of Jizzy Pearl (vocals), Alex Grossi (guitar), Chuck Wright (bass) and Johnny Kelly (drums), and will hit the road for a few mini tours, playing a small number of shows in July, August and October with one November stop before a pair of scheduled concerts next year.

Since the death of singer Kevin Dubrow in 2007, Frankie Banali largely served as the spokesperson for QUIET RIOT and was the longest continuous member of the band, which featured a revolving lineup of musicians in recent years. Wright, who was an on-and-off member in the ’80s, is the only other member to have played amid the band’s classic period, even playing bass on the song “Metal Health” from the 1983 album of the same name.

Banali died on Aug. 20 of last year after a battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in April of 2019 and was told by doctors that he only had about six months to live, however the drummer would go on to live more than a year.

Last September, the band issued a statement, declaring, “It was Frankie Banali’s wish that the band continue and we keep the music and the legacy alive.”
