After rumors have been circulating for weeks, it’s been confirmed by Rob Zombie himself that classic horror host/actor Cassandra Peterson, best known as her Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark character, has been cast in Zombie’s upcoming ‘The Munsters’ feature film.
Zombie made the confirmation via Instagram today (March 11) that Peterson will be playing real estate agent Barbara Carr.
Zombie’s Instagram post had the following note attached: “ATTENTION CASTING NEWS! 💀Straight from the set of THE MUNSTERS is your first look at Barbara Carr, the #1 real estate agent in all of Mockingbird Heights. Barbara is played by none other the CASSANDRA PETERSON @therealelvira . Yes, the Mistress of the Dark has joined the cast of THE MUNSTERS. 🦇 Stay tuned for more exciting news to come. 🦇”
Zombie also recently recently revealed that Jeff Daniel Phillips will play the role of Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie will play Lily Munster, Catherine Schell will play Zoya Krupp, and Daniel Roebuck is set to play Grandpa Munster.
The Munsters movie is currently being filmed in Budapest and has been given a PG rating. Which makes sense as a gore filled version of the classic television show would directly clash with the original series concept.
