SEPULTURA Drummer ELOY CASAGRANDE Breaks His Leg; ANGRA’s BRUNO VALVERDE To Fill In

Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande will be sitting out for the remainder of the band's North American tour after a stage accident left him with a broken leg.

It appears that SEPULTURA drummer Eloy Casagrande will be sitting out for the remainder of the band’s North American tour after a stage accident left him with a broken leg.

Yesterday, the 31-year-old drummer shared x-ray photos of his fractured tibia and fibula bones to his Instagram, and included the following message: “It is with deep sadness that I announce that I have unfortunately broken my right leg. Yesterday, at the El Paso show, during the break between songs I ended up falling off the stage and fracturing my tibia and fibula. I’m going back to Brazil to start the recovery. I’ll see you soon! The tour will continue, but without me. More news coming soon. I ask for your support.”

SEPULTURA’s “North American Quadra” 2022 tour with SACRED REICH and CROWBAR will wrap up on April 8 in Berkeley, California just before the band head south for a six-date tour of Mexico from April 12-17.

The band have recruited Bruno Valverde (ANGRA) to play drums for them for the last three shows of their North American run. The “North American Quadra” 2022 trek with SACRED REICH and CROWBAR kicked off on March 4 in Sacramento and is set to conclude on April 8 in Berkeley, California. SEPULTURA also has a six-date tour of Mexico scheduled for April 12-17.

Testerday, SEPULTURA released the following statement via social media: “Sepulnation, bad news! Eloy Casagrande has severely injured his leg which forces him to leave the tour and go home for proper treatment and to be close to his family. Please wish him all the best and a speedy recovery!!

“We have been lucky enough that Bruno Valverde (ANGRA) is able to replace Eloy for the last three shows of the North American tour.

“Unfortunately, we are forced to cancel tonight’s show [in Mesa, Arizona]. The show will still happen with SACRED REICH, CROWBAR and ART OF SHOCK.

“We will continue the tour this Wednesday in San Diego, hope to see you there!
