Forrmer SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison was left out of the ‘In Memoriam’ segment at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Jordison, who passed away in July 2021 at the age of 46, was absent from the televised tribute to musicians who have passed away over the previous 12 months.

Many fans expressed their frustration on social media, stressing the point that Jordison had won a Grammy in 2006 for Best Metal Performance for the SLIPKNOT track “Before I Forget”.

FOO FIGHTERS drummer Taylor Hawkins, who passed away at 50 just over a week ago, was honored during the segment.

“This was the moment in the show when I was supposed to be introducing the FOO FIGHTERS,” host Trevor Noah announced. “We would have been celebrating with them as they won three Grammy Awards earlier today. But they, of course, are not here due to the passing of their legendary drummer, Taylor Hawkins. Our thoughts go out to Taylor’s family, his friends, his FOO FIGHTER family and all his fans.”

Grammy Awards 2022’s complete list of musicians and folks important to the industry whom we’ve lost in the past year — including Jordison, Zazula and Edge — can be found on Grammy.com.

FOO FIGHTERS were supposed to play at this year’s Grammy Awards but canceled after Hawkins’s death.
