TOOL commenced their European run of dates with BRASS AGAINST as the support act on April 23 at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, and actually made a sign for BRASS AGAINST singer Sophia Urista asking that she not pee on the stage.

The sign actually reads, “NO PEE ZONE. No Urine Is To Be Deposited, Placed, Distributed, Sprinkled, Poured And/or Spread In This Immediate Area.”

The sign is an obvious response and reference to Urista who made headlines last year for peeing on a fan, onstage during BRASS AGAINST’s set at last year’s Welcome To Rockville festival.

Urista would issue an apology, saying it’s not who the band is.

“Hey everyone. I want to speak to my performance at Rockville metal festival in Daytona. I have always pushed the limits in music and onstage. That night, I pushed the limits too far.

“I love my family, the band, and the fans more than anything and I know some were hurt or offended by what I did. I apologize to them and want them to know that I didn’t mean to hurt them.

“I am not a shock artist. I always want to put the music first. I’m grateful for all of your continued love and support.”

NASCAR spokesperson Ruyssell Branham issued a statement soon after saying that BRASS AGAINST are now banned from any future performances at NASCAR venues.

“Daytona International Speedway doesn’t condone the inappropriate actions that took place during Thursday’s Welcome to Rockville event. We are working with promoter Danny Wimmer Presents to address the issue. The band will not be included in future programming at NASCAR venues.”

We’re sure more antics courtesy of the guys in TOOL will be reported in the days ahead as the tour progresses. Just because TOOL are hilarious and awesome.
