QUEENSRŸCHE singer Todd La Torre sported a METAL CHURCH t-shirt during the band’s July 30 performance at the 68th annual Dubuque County Fair in Dubuque, Iowa in honor of METAL CHURCH singer Mike Howe who died last week.
La Torre posted a photo of him wearing the shirt to his social media and included the following message: “Proudly wearing my legit 1989 METAL CHURCH tour shirt, with a special dedication to our dear friend Mike Howe. You were there in spirit”.
When Howe’s death was first announced, La Torre wrote on his social media pages: “No words to say on this one. Just conversed with him less than a week ago. My heart hurts for this profound loss. A true legend, kind soul, and a personal friend.”
Howe was found dead at his home in Eureka, California on Monday, July 26. According to TMZ, Howe’s official cause of death was determined to be asphyxia due to hanging. A spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Dept. told the site authorities are calling it a suicide.
