CANNIBAL CORPSE frontman George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher has come under fire for comments he made back in 2007 in regards to characters in the ‘World Of Warcraft‘ online video game.

The comments being referred to are those from an interview that “Corpsegrinder” did in 2007 where the CANNIBAL CORPSE frontman used several homophobic slurs while discussing his dislike for certain fictitious types of characters featured within ‘World Of Warcraft’. You can check out the video for yourself below.

The interview originally aired at a ‘BlizzCon‘ event put on by the game’s developer, Blizzard Entertainment, back in 2011 which elicited an apology from the studio’s co-founder and then President, Michael Morhaime.

Blizzard Entertainment and its publisher, Activision, are currently dealing with a mass of harassment and discrimination-related legal trouble, which includes a lawsuit filed by the California Department Of Fair Employment And Housing.

The aforementioned lawsuit filed by the California Department Of Fair Employment And Housing alleged the following of Blizzard Entertainment: “Defendants’ ‘frat boy’ culture is a breeding ground for harassment and discrimination against women. Female employees are subjected to constant sexual harassment and discrimination against women. Female employees are subjected to constant sexual harassment, including having to continually fend off unwanted sexual commented and advances made by their male co-workers and supervisors and being groped at the ‘cube crawls’ and other company events.

High-ranking executives and creators engaged in blatant sexual harassment without repercussions. In a particularly tragic example, a female employee committed suicide during a business trip with a male supervisor who had brought butt plugs and lubricant with him on the trip.”

CANNIBAL CORPSE’s George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher was immortalized in the game back in 2008 with a non-playable character named ‘Gorge The Corpsegrinder‘.

With the company’s past conduct coming into question recently, website Dextero.com reports that some players have been advocating for the removal of Fisher‘s in-game character in light of the comments he made in said video back in 2007.

There is no word on whether the character will be removed from the game at this point.
